Scripture Emphasis:
Acts 4:36 “Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means Son of Encouragement).

Abraham is known as the Father of Faith. Joseph was the Savior of Egypt. David is recorded as a Man after God’s own Heart. Esther was a Queen. Nehemiah was a Cupbearer. Job was the Man of Patience. Jeremiah was called the Weeping Prophet and Jonah was the Disgruntled One. Throughout Scripture people have had names or phrases ascribed to them that help us understand their character. At the beginning of the church there was a man named Barnabas. He was called the Son of Encouragement. Our church would be a richer place if we mimicked him.
