Scripture Emphasis:

Ps 24:8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.”

One of the great blessings of studying the names of God is it helps us see God’s character within a human context.  Many of His names appear while dealing with individuals.  To Abraham He was El Roi, Gideon knew Him as Jehovah Shalom and Job understood Him as El Shaddai.  El Gibbor is not given for just one person, even though Isaiah receives the prophecy.  El Gibbor is given for all believers with much anticipation.
