Scripture Emphasis:

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Our human understanding fails to truly grasp the grandeur and magnitude of our God.  We are limited by our minds and tend to put limitations on His power.  Understanding His might allows us to begin to live a life of faith, understanding His love for us allows us to begin to live a life in and of grace.

  1. God demonstrated His power in the act of .      – Genesis 1:1
    1. Buildings are not created, they are .
    2. Art is not created, it is .
    3. Children are not created, they are a response to                                .
  2. God not only created us, He  us when we failed Him.
  3. The world builds walls around God so that they don’t have to                                  Him or                             to Him.
  4. Christians build walls around God by  how we want Him to work in our lives.
  5. Christians build walls around God by telling Him when we will         in Him and when we want Him to
  6. Understanding that God truly is                             allows us the freedom to trust Him with our lives.

Scripture Emphasis:

Isa 6:1 “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.”

Three men; one Lord.  One Lord; three callings.  One was asked to wait on Him.  The second was asked to accomplish His purpose.  The last was called to do His will.  Each was shown something spectacular.  Each one responded differently yet God used them all.  He will do the same with you.

Scripture Emphasis:

Ex 3:10 “So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”

It is amazing how many times in the Bible God comes to a person in an amazing way only to have that person fear.  Perhaps that is simply a human response.  Perhaps the situation is too great, or they feel too small.  Whatever the reason is, when Adonai calls us to do anything for Him, He wants us to accomplish His purpose.  As our Lord and Master, we should respond with nothing less.

  1. Moses the Excuse Driven __________________ – Ex. 3 and 4

Luke 4:16-21                                                                            Guest Speaker, Dan Marlow

June 9, 2019

Scripture Emphasis:

Luke 4:16-21 – He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Judges 6                                                                                                   Pastor Todd Harker

May 12, 2019

Scripture Emphasis:

Ps 29:11 “The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.”

Last week we saw Gideon’s frailty in distressing times.  We learned about the Anatomy of Fear.  It comes from when our circumstances seem INSURMOUNTABLE, when our abilities seem INSUFFICIENT and when our God seems UNINTERESTED.  The first two are legit.  However, the last one is false.  God is never uninterested in your life.  Today we see how God brings peace amidst the most difficult times in our lives.

  1. God meets us in moments of our greatest __________ – v.1-12
